All You Need to Interview Someone

Interview is a conversation, face to face, mostly in formal way, where questions are asked by interviewer and answers are given by interviewee. Interview can be found in a job interview, journalism, research, psychology, and others. Sometimes interview is happened in our daily life or maybe you would like to interview someone for assignment or just to try. But, did you ever think you did it correctly or have you known how to interview someone perfectly? So here, all you need to interview someone are preparing, performing, and executing.

The first step to interview someone is to prepare yourself. You have to research your interviewee. You have to know your interviewee, what his identity especially his name or his position and what his authority; is he a witness or a president, a govenor or something like that. Then, do a research to the topic of the news that you want to write. This is very important so you can understand the topic and easily write and ask the question. After you understand the topic, write your questions. Don’t forget to prepare some topics for small talk so the interview does not boring and seem awkward. Also, don’t forget to prepare your recorder gear. So, all you need primarily is to prepare perfectly.

The next step is to perform the interview. Before you interview someone, it is better for you to take a look for your appearance. You have to use your best and comfortable cloth. Then, start the interview with a smile or opening or greeting and introduce yourself to the interviewee and don’t forget to turn on your recorder. Ask the interviewee’s name and the question nicely and pay attention to the interviewee. When you interview someone, you have to be confident and do not be nervous. When you think your conversation with the interviewee is a little bit boring, it is the time for you to have some chit chat based on the topic. After the interview is done, close it and be thankful to the interviewee.

The last step is execution. When you have done the interview, then you should write the news and arrange it perfectly. For better news you can upload or put some picture to your news then add some caption into it. The picture must be clearly stated or clear enough to describe the news. When you write the news, make sure you write every word accurately, write the interviewee’s name correctly and make sure the news is complete without lack of information. If the information that you got is not enough, you can find other informant or you can search the detail of the topic such as the place name, the interviewee biography, etc.

In short, all you need to interview is to prepare yourself, understand the topic and write the questions and your recorder. Then, you can interview someone that you know he/she has the information or he/she is the right person according to the topic that you need to write. At last, write your news.
