Tourists Find Education, Cultural and Historic Recreation at Adityawarman Museum

Padang, J-News – Adityawarman Museum is a Minangkabau culture museum. It is placed at Diponegoro Street, No. 10, Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia. It is build in 1974 and introduced on March, 16th 1977. This museum conserves Minangkabau culture objects like the traditional weapons, traditional clothing, traditional building, arts, etc. With all of its collection, this museum is also called Mini Park of West Sumatra. The tourists can look up for education, cultural and historic recreation in one in this museum. Aside from Indonesian, there are also foreign tourists.
Adityawarman Museum have some events and program as told by Riza Mutia, The Coordinator of Publication, that will be held every year.
“Adityawarman Museum has programs that usually held about two until five times in a year. The program is called Atraksi Budaya (Cultural Attraction).” She said.
Furthermore, the event held is depending on what programs are going to hold at the time.
There are many facilities that can make the visitors comfortable. They are easy to reach because it is placed around the museum.
“Adityawarman Museum has facilities that support this museum such us musholla, toilet, cafe. With this facilities, the visitors are hoped to feel comfortable with it.” She added
Additionally, it has free WiFi, beautiful photo spot, children park, and parking lot.
She said the museum is open for a study and research. Student and researcher are free to find the data and information for their study.
“Adityawarman Museum is a non-profit institution and it is open for public” She certified.
Sarianto, STKIP Sumatera Barat student, visit the museum with his friends, told us that he found it very interesting about the exhibited objects in the museum and give him a knowledge about the history of Minangkabau.

“By visit this museum, we can see the heritage of Minangkabau historical culture and the explanation of Minangkabau history. It really improves my perception and knowledge about Minangkabau cultures.” He admitted.

And also there are a visitor from England, Gary Peverill, having a holiday with his wife and children. He just came to Padang for the first time on his around the world trip. He is very like this place because it is very comfortable.
“Even we just arrive, it seems very nice to get to the park. So we have to look around over there.” He said.
He also experienced some important experience at the museum. There are many lesson like history and the area.
“(We experienced like) to find out about history and about the area.” He told us.
